The quickest graphical route is the Printer Installation Wizard.

- Open the BrightQ-Pro Configuration Tool by running
codehost-configin an X11 session. - Select the Add Printer icon or Printer → Printer Installation Wizard.
- Select Local (USB, parallel, serial or file) or Remote (LPD, IPP, SMB or socket).
- Enter connection details, or scan the local network where supported.
- Choose the printer manufacturer, model, and any installed hardware accessories.
- Enter the queue name and optional location/description. Queue names cannot contain spaces or arbitrary punctuation.
- Decide whether to make the new queue the system default and whether to enable PJM and filter processing.
- Review the settings, create the queue and print a Test Page.
The wizard’s five screens are explained in Printer Installation Wizard. For command-line configuration, see Configure printers from the shell.
